The Asian Development Bank (ADB) Headquarters is an LEED Gold Certified building in the heart of the city. Known for its sustainability goals, ADB sought how to further enhance their building’s current green performance. LDG Architects conducted building envelope studies to identify strategies and determine how to further maximize the building’s potential for energy saving. Though tedious analysis of the shell, the current interior conditions and how its users function, the building is seen to be able to increase its energy savings and human performance up to additional 10%.

Principal Architect
Ma. Luisa Daya-Garcia, Principal Architect of LDG Architects, is one of the country’s leading green architectural resource expert consultants. Her penchant for environmental sustainability has brought her diverse green projects, bagging the title Queen of Green and a prestigious recognition by BCI Asia for the Green Leadership Award.
As an alumna of Lund Universitet, Sweden, she took the path to advocate sustainability, which led her to become an associate of the American Institute of Architects, and one of the first BERDE Certified Professionals in the Philippines. With these, her passion to share her international knowledge on sustainability has led her to become one of the founding members of the active Green Architecture Advocacy Philippines.
Her passion to advocate her practice led her to collaborate with other experts in the same field, locally and internationally. That being said, LDG Architects has already expanded and broadened their expertise with regards to their field and is now known to be a leading specialist in green design services.

With over 40 years experience in commercial and residential projects, Arch. Reformado is recipient of various citations and awards from both the government and private sectors, attesting to his contributions to the architecture profession. He is a Fellow and member Emeritus of the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP). His advocacy for a better environment began when he lengthily served as Chairman of the Green Architecture Movement of the UAP after which he co-founded and remains Chairman Emeritus of the Green Architecture Advocacy of the Philippines (Green AP), the very visible group promoting the use of green technology in the construction and design industry.

KATHLEEN I. RUNAS is a licensed architect and a member of the LDG Architects team of Green Practitioners in the field of design and architecture. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Architecture at Polytechnic University of the Philippines. She started working part-time while at school, designing stations and stores with Total Gas (Philippines), including a stop in NguYen Tsi Tsai, Thailand. Her professional training started working with a local design and construction firm promoting Green practice under Ar. Antonio Sevilla Jr. PIA, PhilGBC. She further honed her exposure in green design with Ar. Charles Ng, designing sustainable government and institutional buildings including University of the Philippines Open University Community Hub in Los Banos, Laguna.
She is an advocate of the practice and is an active member of Green Architecture Advocacy Philippines. Aside from her activities in the practice of architecture, she is also an advocate of the profession in sincere practice of the Architect’s Credo. She is the first and current president of the PUP, College of Architecture and Fine Arts, Alumni Society. Starting as a student leader, she takes pleasure in working on promoting and encouraging loyalty to the university and further nurtures the aspirants to the profession and its allies.

GRASS is an initiative focused on action, results and collaboration. We have planted the seeds with Action 1- REFORESTATION DIALOGUE and WORKSHOP. The next step is to let it grow. GRASS is moving forward with its mission to bring the present to a Green and Sustainable future with Action 2, a follow-up exploratory meeting with the drivers of change to be hosted by Hon. Roberto Pagdanganan and the Boy Scout of the Philippines.
